The new edition of Kill Team is here! The boxed set will be released alongside several additional items, including a separate Core Rulebook, a plastic equipment pack, and the Approved Operations Card Pack. Additionally, eight full kill teams are being re-released with updated rules, tokens, and other enhancements, with a second and third wave of kill teams to follow.
Kill Team: Hivestorm
The new edition launch set is packed with updated rules, miniatures, and accessories. The Warhammer Studio has refined the game to create a high-paced, three-dimensional skirmish game set in the Warhammer 40K universe, delivering a carefully balanced experience of covert operations.
The box contains 22 brand-new miniatures forming two full kill teams: the daring Tempestus Aquilons and the alien Vespid Stingwings. These teams are fighting for control of Volkus, a critical planet housing one of the galaxy's most powerful weapons, making it a key strategic point in the Chalnath Expanse conflict.
Both kill teams offer multiple build options. Many figures can be assembled as standard troopers or specialized operatives with distinct abilities, weapons, and gear. The Aquilons excel at orbital drops and come equipped with a servo-sentry gun and a range of Imperial weaponry, while the highly mobile Vespid use their wings to dominate the killzone, armed with advanced neutron guns.
The set also includes a 112-page softcover Core Book with the complete rules for the new edition and a 72-page Hivestorm Dossier detailing the Volkus campaign, including team-specific rules.
Additionally, the box contains a Core Token Sheet with 92 double-sided tokens, another sheet with 55 team-specific tokens, 36 Approved Operations Cards to create missions and objectives, a game board, 10 dice, 14 terrain pieces for Killzone: Volkus, and a 30-piece universal plastic equipment pack.
Kill Team: Core Book
The Kill Team Core Book is also available separately, along with the Core Token Sheet. This 112-page guide covers all the essential rules, weapon details, phases, actions, and terrain mechanics across three Killzones: Volkus, Bheta-Decima, and Gallowdark. It also includes two Mission Packs: the traditional head-to-head Preliminary Ops and the new Joint Ops pack, which introduces Non-Player Operatives (NPOs) for solo or cooperative play.
Kill Team: Equipment Pack
The Equipment Pack, also sold separately, includes 30 universal pieces that any kill team can use. These items, such as barricades, grenades, comms devices, and mines, can also serve as scatter terrain in other Warhammer 40K games.
Kill Team: Approved Operations Card Pack 2024
The Approved Operations Card Pack, also available separately, provides the framework for matched play missions. This 36-card deck is updated annually and includes mission-building cards, scouting step cards, Tac Ops cards, and mission maps for various Killzones, ensuring varied and engaging games.
Killzones: Bheta-Decima and Gallowdark
Two additional Killzones, Bheta-Decima and Gallowdark, have been repackaged for the new edition. Each offers unique challenges: Bheta-Decima involves aquatic and industrial terrain, while Gallowdark focuses on close-quarters combat in the tight corridors of a voidship. Rules for both are included in the new Core Book.
