Community Content Roundup: Tyranids, Titans & Tanks!
Salutations, be ye wargamer, card gamer, roleplayer or some poor lost soul that's ended up here by accident! We are once again inviting you to peruse our community content roundup, and it's one for the ages! Read on to discover painting tutorials, battle reports, tactics, commentary, reviews and hijinks from some of the most attractive content creators on the worldwide webz - each one an honoured member of the Firestorm Games Affiliate Program. Let's get stuck in, but you'd probably best douse yourself with icy water first - these contents are HOT!
Hobby Jackal
Hobby Jackal has struck comedy gold with his tribute to Ryan George's popular Pitch Meeting sketch series! Did you ever wonder what went on in the Games Workshop boardroom when the decision to bring back The Old World was made? Hobby Jackal gives us a glimpse, and it's hilarious!
Warhipster
Warhipster has been producing an excellent series of painting tutorials centred around the new Leviathan box set for Warhammer 40K, including guides for pretty much every hive fleet. It was hard to pick just one for the roundup, but we especially loved his take on Hive Fleet Hydra. We recommend checking out all of them though.
Tale of Painters
Stahly at Tale of Painters has been reviewing the new Dawnbringers box sets for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. There's a closer look at the sprues for the new harbinger minis, as well as Stahly's take on whether the boxes represent a good investment for your army. Well worth a read, as always!
By the way, we have these sets in stock right now, with the usual discount on the RRP.
Arbitor Ian
Whether you're getting back into Warhammer 40K 10th edition after a long break or you're entirely new to the game, Arbitor Ian's lore catchup is a great entry point into the setting as it exists at this point in the timeline. It's presented with the perfect mix of detail and big picture, and it's essential viewing for all 40K fans!
TableTopReady
It's another fantastic Warhammer 40K painting tutorial from TableTopReady! This has to be one of the best takes on the Adepta Sororitas Order of the Bloody Rose we've ever seen, and now you can recreate the paint job yourself by following along step by step.
Sorastro's Painting
We're sticking with painting tutorials but leaving the grim darkness of the far future behind in favour of a galaxy far, far away! Star Wars: Shatterpoint has now well and truly landed and it's been a huge success. There are some great painting tutorials out there already, but for our money Sorastro's Painting has some of the best. This tutorial for painting B1 battle droids is just one example, but we highly recommend checking out all of Sorastro's Shatterpoint content.
Crooked Staff Terrain
Crooked Staff Terrain continues to ramp up the creativity with a tutorial that'll help you craft some awesome spider-themed scatter terrain for your tabletop games. We bet there are a lot of roleplayers and wargamers out there that could make great use of these.
Wrath of Minis
If you're looking to create a dark, creepy, aesthetic that blends a rocky look with a fleshy look, Wrath of Minis has got you covered! What makes this video so great is that every part of the process and the thinking process behind it are explained in detail, so there's a lot more to chew on here than just the surface level painting guide.
Worgore TV
It's battle report time, courtesy of Worgore TV! In another awesome Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battle, the Stormcast Eternals are seeking to wipe the scourge of the Soulblight Gravelords from the realms. Which faction will emerge victorious? You'll have to watch to find out!
Bottom of the Barrel
Another battle report up next, but you might say that this one is on a much bigger scale - or smaller scale, depending on your perspective! It's an Adeptus Titanicus battle brought to you by Bottom of the Barrel, which is especially timely for those of us who've been eying up the new Legions Imperialis game and are eager to see these tiny titans in action! This is a great-looking battle, and you owe it to yourself to give it a watch.
Cadian Shock
Cadian Shock has recently swapped the unsung heroes of the Astra Militarum for the warped horrors of Chaos, which would normally be unforgiveable heresy, but since his Iron Warriors look so cool we'll let it slide! This article is a deep dive into the painting of his first traitor astartes for The Horus Heresy, and includes loads of pictures as well as links to some really great tutorials.
Hammer of War
Hammer of War has something a little different for us, in the for of an Age of Sigmar tournament recap and tactics discussion. If you're an AoS player there's a lot to get stuck into with this engrossing long-form chat.
Oldemodave
Once again Oldemodave is flying the flag for Magic the Gathering here on the roundup, with another nail-biting Paper Pioneer matchup. It's a great watch from beginning to end, and if you enjoy it Oldemodave has plenty more with this came from!
Modelling for Advantage
The World of Tanks miniatures game has a bunch of new platoon packs coming soon, and what better way to learn all about it than by watching a review video by the ever-engaging Modelling for Advantage? There is no better way we tell you!
Also, if you like what you see, we have these up for pre-order here.
Mordian Glory
We're back to battle reports, and this one's a doozy! This Warhammer 40K showdown between the Death Korps of Krieg and the Tau Empire has everything - beautifully painted miniatures, a stunningly immersive tabletop, thrilling action and top-tier presentation. Thanks Mordian Glory!
Tier Three Podcast
Blood Bowl fans are in for a treat, as always, with another great episode of the Tier Three Podcast. This time the guys are talking team build for the magnificent mummies of Khemri. That and their entire back catalogue of awesomeness can be found here.
Elstonation
We've all experienced a hobby drought at one time or another - it could last days, months or even years, but there'll inevitably be times when you'll struggle to pick up the clippers or a brush for one reason or another. In this great video, Elstonation gives you some tips for getting past the hobby block, in his usual inimitable style.
Exile Squadron
The Exile Squadron blog is always packed with engrossing battle reports for Star Wars: X-Wing, but the latest article is especially near and dear to our hearts - because we're in it! The very first X-Wing Welsh Open was recently held right here at Firestorm Games with 52 players in attendance, and here you'll find a great rundown of the event.
Say Hi Paul
Finally on the roundup this month, Say Hi Paul has another thrilling Warhammer 40K battle report for you to feast your eyes on, and what a feast it is! In part 1 of the finale to their long-running Soul of Nexus narrative the Adepta Sororitas fight the Word Bearers across one of the coolest-looking tabletops we've seen. Do yourself a favour and check it out!
We'll be back again soon with more Flamin' Hot Content! In the meantime, if you'd like your website, channel or podcast to be featured, head over to the Firestorm Games Affiliate Program page and sign up.
Until next time - stay toasty!
